Adventures of a Traveler

This is the excerpt for your very first post.

Ilocos is considered a northern tourist destination where pasalubong delicacies like chichacorn are popular. It is divided into two parts: Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.  Also, it is famous for being the birthplace of the former president, Ferdinand E. Marcos.

Recently, we went to Ilocos Norte and Ilocos sur for our tour for Services subject.  I’ve been to almost all of the places in the itinerary and it was very nostalgic. Originally, The trip was scheduled October 23-28 but it was delayed for a few days because of a super typhoon. Below are some of the places we’ve been:

The person speaking was our tour guide for the trip, his name is Rizalino”Tata Lino”Catin. We  had 2 stopovers, 1st is the NLEX gasoline station and 2nd is at Leeza’s eatery station in Pangasinan. The travel from Dasmarinas to Ilocos Sur was approximately 9 hours including stopovers.

After the travel we ate breakfast first and then we checked in and after that we prepared for the city tour. I really liked the color of the hotel because it matches my favorite color, yellow.

This is Vigan Cathedral. We prayed for a while and even though it’s my 2nd time there, I still made a wish. There is a belief that if it is your first time to visit a church, just make a wish and it will come true.

Such a relaxing day at the beach! too bad we weren’t allowed to swim. We were lucky that the weather was fine. Back then, the waves were big and the weather was a bit harsh. I couldn’t even remember that Plaza del Mar was the exact same restaurant we dinned in during my first visit!

Bangui Windmills

Very windy! We learned that the height of the turbines are not the same for a specific purpose. Also discussed the history and the maintenance cost of that. This place is also known as sunshine capital. It has very few clouds.

Sand Dunes

Rode the 4×4 and it was fun and exciting! The picture was a bit blurry because it is almost night time. Too bad we were not allowed to drive the ATV because of safety purposes. We signed a waiver and learned that the cost was 2,500 per set ( slide, ATV and 4X4) but since we didn’t ride the ATV it was reduced to 2,000 php.

Home at last!

Some pasalubongs for my family. Sad to say, all good things come to an end, but memories last! Will definitely come back to Ilocos again, this time by plane!
